Until Dawn 2 is an upcoming single-player interactive horror game developed by Firesprite and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It is scheduled for January 28, 2027 on PS5. The new story follows Dead True, a paranormal entertainment crew whose staged ghost hunts become a real survival crisis on Akishima Island.
This wiki reference covers announced information as of November 2, 2026. It is not a completed walkthrough or a database of verified ending routes. Character survival requirements, a full collectible list, chapter solutions, and the complete explanation of the island's mystery have not been established for the unreleased game.

PS5 Pro enhancements are listed for the console release. They should not be read as a separate game or a requirement to own PS5 Pro. Likewise, the current PS5 exclusivity does not supply an unannounced PC port date.
The sequel is presented as a standalone experience. It introduces a new playable ensemble and a new setting while retaining the series' focus on difficult decisions and survival outcomes. That makes the numbered sequel distinct from the 2024 remake of the original Until Dawn.
Story premise and the Dead True channel
Dead True's members create paranormal entertainment without having encountered genuine supernatural activity. They stage the scares that help build their audience. A viral stunt opens the door to a television deal and a larger production assignment.
That assignment sends them to an abandoned tropical resort. What begins as a chance to produce a dramatic episode becomes a situation in which their real lives are at risk. The crew must respond to threats it cannot manage as ordinary production tricks, while its own complicated relationships continue to cause problems.

The later story reveal places the crew at Blackwood Sanatorium, recording an episode about earlier tragic events. Izzy, the new intern, discovers something unexpected there. Later, at HorrorCon in Sydney, the team meets Yoona, a survivor of a supernatural attack whose warning directs them toward the island.
These revealed events provide the route into the premise. They do not disclose every character's motivation, the complete sequence of chapters, or the final explanation. In particular, recognizing a familiar location is not proof that all the original game's characters return.
Akishima Island and its abandoned resort
Akishima Island is the remote South Pacific destination identified in the story announcement. Its luxury resort has been abandoned since a mysterious shutdown in the 1970s, while its deeper secrets are described as centuries old and connected to vengeance.
The setting combines tropical beauty with abandoned amenities and wilderness. Beaches, palms, water, and resort buildings distinguish it from the first game's snowy Blackwood Mountain setting. Searching shadows for clues and examining detailed environments are part of the announced experience.

The resort closure and the older history are different pieces of information. One gives a broad date for the abandoned facilities; the other indicates that the mystery predates them. The information does not yet provide a complete island chronology or establish the cause of every death associated with it.
No complete playable map or exhaustive location index has been established. A scenic island image can identify the setting, but it does not tell you how to reach every area or whether a particular route remains available after a decision.
Cast and character names
The confirmed actor-character pairings are useful when comparing trailers, ensemble scenes, and character introductions. They also help separate the sequel from original-game guides and the film adaptation, both of which can appear in searches for the same franchise.
| Character | Performer |
|---|---|
| Dr. Hill | Peter Stormare |
| Owen | Dacre Montgomery |
| Luke | Gavin Leatherwood |
| Sebastian | Neil Newbon |
| Anna | Janina Gavankar |
| Izzy | Sarah Catherine Hook |
| Mina | Camila Senna |
| Yoona | Gia Kim |
| Reagan | Andie Ju |
| Josie | Hannah Kepple |
| Nate | Spence Moore II |
| Cameron | Tanner Buchanan |
The eight named playable Dead True members are Owen, Mina, Nate, Reagan, Izzy, Luke, Josie, and Cameron. The wider cast list contains additional characters; it should not be used as a count of playable protagonists.
Several introductions provide specific roles. Owen is the crew's star; Mina is a conflicted co-host; Izzy is the new intern; and Josie is the location scout. Yoona is the survivor whose warning helps propel the journey. These roles describe the announced story context, not character classes or published ability bonuses.
Dr. Hill is the only returning character identified in the current game information. That limits claims about returning faces: the actor list should not be expanded with original cast members because a trailer image seems familiar or an old ending prompted speculation.
Choice, relationships, and survival
The Butterfly Effect structure carries forward the idea that decisions can alter later events. The sequel's announcement places particular emphasis on relationships: some branches depend on where things stand between characters, and smaller interactions can matter alongside large dramatic choices.
One revealed example places Owen between following a signal to help missing Nate and crossing a shaky bridge toward a suspiciously lively bar. The scene illustrates a tension between helping someone and investigating possible clues. It does not provide a verified correct choice.
Another places Mina under pressure to sacrifice a chicken for the television production, with an alternative involving her own blood. That scene connects the crew's entertainment work to the real danger of the setting. Its consequences have not been disclosed as a tested route.
Other announced dilemmas include helping a trapped baby boar, continuing an affair that could disrupt the group, and pushing someone toward a breaking point for the sake of material. The examples establish the kinds of decisions being offered without supplying an all-survive checklist.
Everyone can live and everyone can die is the announced survival premise. It means the playable ensemble's fate depends on what happens during the story. It is not a numerical statement about the total number of endings, a guarantee that every supporting character has the same range of outcomes, or a description of one canonical playthrough.
PS5 presentation and controller features
The announced PS5 features include 4K visuals, with a compatible display required, and 3D audio through supported television speakers or analogue or USB stereo headphones after setup. These are presentation features; they do not establish a specific frame-rate target or a performance result measured on a released build.
The DualSense implementation includes haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. Examples describe feeling physical details and a character's heartbeat, as well as changes in resistance during actions such as opening doors or moving through tight spaces. The touchpad is also part of the announced interaction, with examples involving a feed swipe and a hand-cutting action.
PS5 Pro enhancements list PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, increased post-processing fidelity, and advanced ray tracing for lighting and reflections. The announcement does not supply a complete comparison of selectable graphics modes, so those labels should not be turned into invented resolution and frame-rate combinations.
Remote Play support is listed. That is a feature of the console game, rather than confirmation of a native PC release. The game is explicitly single-player only; having multiple people discuss decisions beside the controller does not create a separate co-op mode.
Editions and bonus categories
The Standard Edition includes Until Dawn 2. The Digital Deluxe Edition includes the game plus the Y2K Neon Vibes Pack and Dioramas of Death. The themed costume pack covers all eight playable Dead True characters; the gallery presents fatal outcomes in detailed vignettes.
The current US page lists Standard at $49.99 and Digital Deluxe at $59.99. These are storefront-specific figures, not a promise of prices in every region. They also should not be mixed with contradictory retailer amounts to invent a new edition price.
Pre-order rewards are a separate category. Eligible pre-orders include Dr. Hill's classic costume and bobblehead collectible, plus an island costume and bobblehead collectible. A PlayStation account and internet connection are required for redemption. Those bonuses are not interchangeable with the Deluxe gallery or the crew's neon costumes.
A physical edition has also been announced. Its existence does not establish a physical Deluxe package, a collector's edition, or a particular retailer's stock. Always identify both the format and the actual contents of a product rather than assuming every image showing bonus artwork represents the same package.
Use the reference without importing another game's rules
The original Until Dawn, its remake, the film adaptation, and The Quarry can all appear in franchise discussions. Their details should stay attached to the appropriate work. A clue found in the Washington lodge is not automatically an Akishima collectible, and a feature available in The Quarry is not automatically present here.
The same care applies to fan theories. A supporting character's unsettling appearance can motivate speculation, but it does not confirm that character's identity, allegiance, or final role. An unidentified creature image likewise does not provide a complete enemy taxonomy or reliable combat instructions.
For a future walkthrough to be usable, it will need specific scenes, available choices, prerequisites, and verified consequences. Until that information exists, the useful reference is the announced framework: a new crew, a haunted island, relationship-sensitive branches, and a survival outcome shaped by your decisions.
